-MM/028 I dispute the principal housing growth has been directed towards urban areas. They have been plonked it on Grade 1 Agricultural land which we need to grow our own food and capture carbon in this increasingly uncertain world going through the start of climate change.

The principal housing growth in Thanet has not been directed towards the urban areas as stated here. The Westgate/Garlinge development site is farmland which is green space between main settlements. This should be retained in order to prevent Thanet becoming an urban linear development such as the Medway Towns, which is stated in the Draft Local Plan itself. Thanet should seek to retain its charm and countryside to ensure its place as a pleasant tourist destination.
