We object to the allocation of this site on the same basis as set out under section 5, namely this site appears to have been proposed on the basis it offers a means of delivering the missing link of the new highway route by allocating the site as a housing allocation and thus avoiding the need for the KHA to compolsory purchase it. It again is allocated in an area saturated with housing consents and allocations and it success is dependant upon the delivery of the whole new transport route with a

yet another not well thought out area of development. Some of Shottendane area is under Manston Parish Council and yet the green space between this and Margate will be lost.

Shottendane road is a very narrow road and will not accommodate many additional cars. This proposal would potentially add 500 cars onto that road at peak hours. This would necessitate widening and improvement works which again alter the character of the area. I strongly object.

I support this plan.
There will need to be adjustments and improvements made at the junction between Manston Road and Shottendane Road though. This is particularly busy during peak times and the lack of traffic enforcement means hold ups are common along Manston Road that can take up to half-hour to get through the junction and traffic lights at coffin corner. More dwellings would exacerbate the problem.
