Proposed number of homes is too high. Infrastructure would be unable cope.
Drs. and other healthcare professionals find difficulty with increasing numbers year on year. Each of the towns and villages have new builds now and more to come. Westwood Cross and beyond is growing enough is enough.
Healthcare, schools, buses, shops and leisure facilities would need to be provided.
Is TDC thinking of Council Tax income rather than the communities.

17,837 additional homes is for too much building, these plans will sprall housing between Thanet's towns until there is no distinction or green space between them, not to mention the demographic nightmare of providing healthcare and schools for all these additional people, existing provision is severely overstretched as it is.
Manston is not a "former Airport site", until it is built on (God forbid) it is an existing airport site awaiting re-instatement as an airfreight hub owned and managed by

Thanet infrastructure eg water, sewage, medical services, opportunities for decent employment, will not support an additional 17,140 houses.

Manston Parish Council are opposed to the proposed revisions of the local plan and have a number of comments. .
* We are concerned that the statistics that have been used are now out of date. Thanet is already 4.9% more densely populated than other areas in England and you are proposing that we have an additional 17,000 homes which will add to this. There are not enough jobs for the people who will live in the houses.
* We are concerned that Farmland is not protected, and we need this as a sou

The reinstate of the former Airport site as an airport for aviation use only with no other development, mixed use or otherwise.

The initial Strategic consultation in 2013 which fed into the 2015 draft local and is the basis for the 2017 local plan is out of date.
The information from the initial consultation which took place in 2013 has been used to form the back bone of the decisions in the Local Plan. Only a couple of hundred of people attended this consultation and the decsions they were asked to make are now well out of date. The participants of the initial consultation were asked to think about around 7 thousand ho

This submission should be read together with the Society's 2015 submission when the proposal was for an unrealistic and inappropriate 12,000 houses also with no infrastructure information.
17,140 new houses equates to a population explosion of approximately 40,000 people (some 30%). No satisfactory evidence has been provided to support this and no allowance has been made for the existing unimplemented planning consents and empty properties amounting to some 7,500+ units.

* These sites are on prime very productive agricultural land, in the Interest of national and local food security. This land should not be being built on.
* Thanet farmers are experienced & highly skilled. They contribute to the islands economy and provide jobs. Its putting skilled farmers out of work, or reducing their income.
* Thanet is well placed for agriculture, being within easy reach of London markets, as well as providing food for local needs.
* Generally, people do not believe Thane

Local infrastructure will not support an additional 17,140 houses, complete with cars etc. The green spaces must be kept.
The number of houses proposed to be reduced considerably and all large open, green spaces / fields must be kept as much.
